The Caribbean Foiling Championships will celebrate its second edition coming weekend from December 10-12, 2021. This new windsurf, kitesurf and wing format which is called foiling is that it represents a broader cross-section of what kite-/windsurfing is today. The organization fully understands that this new foiling discipline is unknown territory for some (local) newspapers and therefore loves to invite all media channels interested on the Caribbean Foiling Championships media boat.
‘How better to share the passion for this sport, than by living the experience?’ says Sacha van der Wouden (co-founder Caribbean Foiling Championships).
This new and innovative event will offer three days of racing, of which only Sunday (December 12, 2021) spots are available on the media boat. On Sunday, the infamous Around the Island Race will take place. With the current record under 1:30h this will be an extremely fun race to watch.
The boat (ScoobiToo) will depart at 9AM from Petit Plage (Grand Case) and will sail to Terres-Basses where it will wait to greet the foilers. From Terres-Basses it will chase the foilers towards Orient Bay and will bring you back at 12PM.
With already 35 competitors signed up coming from: St. Martin, St. Maarten, Saint Barthelemy, Guadeloupe, Canada, Antigua, Puerto Rico, Martinique, Netherlands, United States and France., the second edition is going to be extremely competitive & fun!
